Still unsure who to make your captain for gameweek 10? Here’s our advice…
Firmino: First on our list is Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian is owned by 17.4% of FPL managers, with his ownership having decreased dramatically in recent weeks. However this gameweek could be the turning point, as Liverpool face Huddersfield. Despite their stunning 2-1 victory over Manchester United last time out, their defensive record isn’t the best. Only four teams have conceded more goals than them in the last four gameweeks. During the last 5 gameweeks, Firmino has had 9 shots, only 1 on target. You’ll have to be very brave to go with this one.
Lacazette: The Frenchman has been averaging 5 points a game for the last 5 gameweeks, which looks pretty promising. He has no assists as of yet, attempting 0.8 every game. Lacazette takes 2.2 shots a game on average, just over half of those shots on target. The stats aren’t overly impressive, but with Swansea coming up next, he could be worth a punt.
Agüero: There’s not much explaining needed for this one. The Argentine bosses Firmino and Lacazette in the statistics department, having already claimed 59 points, compared to Lacazette’s 40 and Firmino’s 37. Seven goals from 27 shots means Agüero has the third best conversion rate so far this season behind Morata and Jesus with 26%. Be careful selecting Agüero as your captain though, he played 120 minutes in the cup earlier this week, and his position in Guardiola’s infuriating rotating starting 11 is in jeopardy. Well over 300,000 managers have brought Agüero into their squads this gameweek, 52% of those transfers being a swap for Romelu Lukaku.
