While there is only a very slim chance that Southampton could get relegated the final day, that, along with the fact that Pep Guardiola rotated against Brighton & Hove Albion means that he is likely to name a strong side at St Mary’s. So Raheem Sterling is expected to replace Bernardo Silva in the front three, while Kevin De Bruyne should return in central midfield. David Silva was allowed to travel back to Spain to in the middle part of the week to see his family, but he may be back in contention for the Saints meeting. So the Spaniard is a possible alternative to Ilkay Gundogan, with Fernandinho perhaps set to continue as the holding midfielder. In defence, Kyle Walker and Fabian Delph could return in the full-back positions, although Benjamin Mendy may be handed a run-out at left-back. After Vincent Kompany and Aymeric Laporte formed the centre-back partnership in midweek, Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones could be favoured on the final day. Having been rested against Brighton, Ederson is expected to replace Claudio Bravo in goal. Sergio Aguero remains sidelined.
