David Wagner revealed that Tom Ince will undergo a late fitness test ahead of the trip to Manchester City after the midfielder missed the 2-0 defeat to Everton due to a hamstring problem. The Terriers boss could alter his usual 4-2-3-1 formation to a more solid 4-3-3 at the Etihad Stadium, though, with Philip Billing an option to join Jonathan Hogg and Aaron Mooy in central midfield. That would leave Ince, providing he is passed fit, battling with Collin Quaner, Alex Pritchard and Rajiv van La Parra for starting berths either side of striker Steve Mounie. Laurent Depoitre is the back-up option up front. Scott Malone was used on the left wing as a second-half substitute last weekend, however, and may be considered for a more advanced role. Danny Williams and Elias Kachunga remain sidelined, but Michael Hefele did return to training this week.
