The (1)4-2-3-1 is the predicted Southampton formation. In goal will likely be McCarthy after claiming the goalkeeping spot from Forster, with a back four that could see Stephens alongside Hoedt as the central defensive pairing. Cedric and Bertrand are expected to play as the full-backs this time out, as Targett is ruled out, allowing Bertrand back into the starting side. Romeu is expected to play with Lemina slightly deeper in the holding role, before the next line of three which is expected to include Tadic, Ward-Prowse and Boufal. Carrillo is set to play as the lone striker. Yoshida and Charlie Austin are currently unavailable through injury. Southampton face Burnley who find themselves in a similarly sticky patch of form. An important three points are at stake for both sides in this equal match up.
Cedric – Hoedt – Stephens – Bertrand
Romeu – Lemina
Ward-Prowse – Tadic – Boufal
