Marouane Fellaini looks certain to miss the home fixture against Huddersfield Town after picking up suspected knee ligament damage in the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. While Jose Mourinho’s attacking 4-2-3-1 formation was exposed at Wembley, it should be more suited for this encounter. So Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba look poised to continue in central midfield, with Pogba certainly relatively fresh after playing just 63 minutes on Wednesday night. Jesse Lingard was also replaced shortly after the hour mark and Mourinho does have the likes of Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford as viable alternatives in the attacking positions. Alexis Sanchez will surely be handed a home debut and is likely to retain a role on the left, with Anthony Martial again lining up on the right side of the attacking three behind striker Romelu Lukaku. In defence, the likes of Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw will be hoping for recalls. Daley Blind isn’t expected to feature, while Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic remain sidelined. Mourinho hopes the pair will be able to return by the end of the month.
