FPL player complains to Michy Batshuayi on Twitter – Batshuayi responds

The Premier League is back up and running for the 2017/2018 season, finally! We all know that the premier league is full of shocks and surprises, and we’ve had one already, when Chelsea lost 3-2 to Burnley at Stamford Bridge. Nobody saw that coming!

Gary Cahill’s 14th minute sending off aided Burnley in scoring 3 past the home side, two coming from Sam Vokes and one coming through Stephen Ward, giving Burnley a 3-0 lead before heading in for half time.

Conte had named a weaker bench than normal, leading Chelsea fans to wonder whether Conte had done this to convey a message (perhaps to the board) that he wanted more players. However, the Italian rejected this statement saying “My choice was to put out the best players that we have in this moment. I don’t like this type of idea, someone sending a message. I wanted to win today, not to send a message.” Despite the sour result, Conte still praised the “great spirit and great commitment” of his players, saying he was “very proud”.

One of the strangest things we saw as Premier League fans this weekend was Michy Batshuayi’s place in the starting 11 over new signing Alvaro Morata. Batshuayi didn’t play a role in any goals for Chelsea, but soon he was substituted for Morata, who immediately made an impact on the game. He bagged a goal for himself and a fantastic headed assist for the second goal scored by defender David Luiz.

Later that night Batshuayi sent a message to his fans on Twitter, quoting “Terrible performance today & a lot of things to work on, i wont hide… but its just day one & the journey to the title is long ?,” “Thx to those who support despite everything, we will fight and make it up soon.” A determined sounding striker, although he will likely be benched for Morata when The Blues clash with Tottenham on Sunday.

One fantasy football fan responded to his post, saying “I had u in my fantasy team man, and u didnt perform #SadDays

The Belgium international responded “Yeah today was poor for Fantasy who got me lol but thats not my main concern now.” He only scored a single point last weekend, a disappointing return for those who had him in their team.
